WHO has designated a number of collaborating centres to work with it in the development, dissemination, maintenance and use of the WHO Family of International Classifications to support national and international health information systems, statistics and evidence.

The WHO-FIC network consist of:

• All WHO appointed Collaborating Centres, including the Netherlands Centre for the WHO-FIC
• The regional bureaus of the WHO
• The responsible area at WHO-Genève.

The mission of the network is to develop, disseminate, implement and update the WHO-FIC for the national and international health information systems.

The work of the WHO-FIC network is based on a Strategy and Work Plan that is produced at the end of October each year.
